It’s a wrap (in more ways than one)
Nearing the end of a short week at Nunney First School. It’s been just me (Howard) working with “Nunney School Film Crew”; a small group of able and enthusiastic year 4 children – very low stress compared to whole class – or even whole school – outreach projects. This is the gang of 4 who last week filmed Puzzle and Play activities and interviews and are now editing their footage into a lively video documentary. Most enjoyment (for me at least!) has been in their writing and recording The Puzzle & Play Rap which will accompany their film.
Children tend to most enjoy the active process of filming, while the more intense focus required for editing is usually a greater challenge. This group however have taken to both activities with relish and, just before home-time, we were able to show the rest of the class a (very) rough cut of the film that they have been working on this week. Much hilarity ensued…
Tomorrow is wrap-up day.
These have been very enjoyable, rewarding sessions and a welcome diversion from recent events at the college, where I have just received notice of redundancy…
