Who we are working with: Real Ideas Organisation
Frome Community Learning Partnership schools are also firing up reading through this year with Alys and Lisa from the Real Ideas Organisation (RIO) with a range of opportunities to get involved, ranging from extreme reading competitions (won by Felix Piper from Oakfield Academy and who rowed into the middle of a lake at Marston Bigot to read the latest Tom Gates book ‘Genius Ideas’ by L. Pichon), on-line publishing and X Factor book challenges.
Most recently Year 4 and 5 children came to meet story teller Tony Dallas.
‘Tony was a really fun and inspiring man and all the children really enjoyed their day and represented their schools fantastically well. A particular well done and thank you must go to the First School children who were confident enough to visit another school for the workshops and to Oakfield and Selwood Academies who were excellent hosts for the two days. The children have now gone away excited to run the X Factor style reading challenge in their schools, where they will try to get as many people as they can to read their favourite book!’
