Following its Frome success, Bridging the World goes nationwide at London’s inspirational Building Centre.
“A very interesting exhibition and wonderful photographs illustrating great achievement by a fine engineer. It is sad that his name seems to have been lost to history.”
Bridging the World visitor, July 2009
Thanks to Bridging the World, Benjamin Baker is no longer a forgotten hero of Victorian engineering in Frome, where over 3,300 people visited the exhibitions and events throughout the summer, and a further 2,500 children enjoyed learning about Benjamin Baker through ‘Brilliant Bridge’ building workshops in schools. We are extremely grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund, Engineering Institutions and corporate sponsorship for enabling this important project to happen.
The word is now spreading nationwide as the exhibition has now travelled to London’s inspirational Building Centre. To find out about events running alongside during September / October visit the Building Centre web-site www.buildingcentre.co.uk.
The exhibition is now available to hire. For further details contact Rook Lane Arts on mailbox@rooklanearts.org.uk.
