Silent film with live piano
Sunday 29 January
Film starts 5.30pm. Refreshments from 4.30pm.
Rook Lane becomes The Rialto for a special cinematic treat: a screening of the rarely-seen silent film STREET ANGEL with live, improvised piano accompaniment.
Frank Borzage's 1928 tale of "human souls made great by love and adversity" - one of the very earliest films to win an Academy Award - will be enhanced by the inventiveness and dexterity of Andrew Youdell, who has had many years' experience and acclaim as a silent film pianist. It will be Andrew's first encounter with this great early work by Hollywood's "undiscovered genius" - an experience not to be missed!
Admission
